eToro is a social trading and multi-asset brokerage company that specialises in financial and copy trading services. It was founded in Israel in 2007, under the name Retail FX, by brothers Yoni and Ronen Asia and David Ring. Today, it has registered offices in Cyprus, Israel, U.K., U.S.A and Australia, and a total head count of 501-1000 employees. The company was valued at $800m in 2018.

eToro accepts deposits in 10 currencies: USD, EUR, GBP, AUD, RMB, THB, IDR, MYR, VND, PHP. It’s important to note that the platform will convert any non-USD funding to USD, i.e. they only allow USD accounts.

You can easily open an eToro account online. All you need is an email address or, alternatively, you can use your Facebook or Google account. Then you get two options: you can either try out the platform using play money with a demo account or you can start trading directly with a live account. Once you deposit funds, you will need to verify your identity by uploading a copy of your passport or ID and your residency by uploading a copy of a utility bill or bank statement.
