What is a share dealing account?
A share dealing account is an account you open with one of the share dealing platforms so you can buy, sell or hold stocks. It’s effectively the first step you need to take when you begin your investment journey. It’s important to spend some time researching the various platforms to understand their fees and services, and Brokerage Compare helps you do just that with minimum effort.
What is the difference between CFD and shares?
The main difference in CFD vs share trading is that when you trade Contracts for Difference (CFDs) you speculate on an asset’s price fluctuation without purchasing the asset itself, e.g. share. Share trading is when you buy and sell the actual shares expecting to make a profit from price fluctuations. Share trading requires you to pay the full price of shares whereas with CFDs you just need to pay the margin to gain full exposure, so it seems cheaper to begin with but may result in you losing more than you deposited.
